Sail and sing to the heart of Newry

An impressive line-up of leading local musicians and singers will help steer festivalgoers into the heart of Newry – on the power of sail and song.

Briege Murphy, Finbar Magee and Briege Quinn, Piaras Ó Lorcáin, Méabh Downey and Aoife Downey are just some of the performers who will provide the soundtrack for Iúr Cinn Fleadh’s highly popular, bestselling, legendary Trad Cruise.

Passengers will board the Brian Boru – a beautiful wooden hulled, traditionally built and rigged gaff ketch – named after the last High King of Ireland. They will be handed a glass of wine and then treated to an evening of music against the backdrop of the stunning and historic Newry Ship Canal.

Afternoon and evening sailings are available on most days through the August Bank Holiday weekend. Demand is usually high, so we recommend that you book early.

Everyone always tells us this is a high point for them at Iúr Cinn Fleadh. It’s great on a sunny day, and it’s great on a misty evening as a heron flies alongside the boat. Don’t miss the memory! Tickets available here.
