It’s become a bit of an institution in Newry. The City Library’s highly successful Poetry And Pancakes session will kick off this year’s Iúr Cinn Fleadh on 22 August.
There’s no real mystery to it. You just turn up with a poem or two and have a wee snack among the stanzas.
The poem you share can be all your own work, or it can be someone else’s creation that means a lot to you. Read it out and tell us why!
And so it’s fitting that, at the start of the Fleadh we have the heart of Irish literature, the poem. Come along and enjoy a bit of company with some composition. Starts at 11.30am. And it’s totally free! (Photo: Caroline Attwood on Unsplash)
